"Interesting themes and catchy grooves...the talent is obvious."
"Taking a Glance at Telling on Trixie:Epic Power Pop and Anthem Rock"
"Truly spine-tingling at times...there is enough soul in the vocals and depth in the songwriting that these songs do come off as a little bit more than just catchy anthemic rock, making Telling on Trixie a band to keep an eye on in the future."
CD Review: Indie Music Stop
"In a short time this band has already begun to build an impressive musical pedigree."

Infuze Magazine Review
"I really love this band. This is so much better than Avril Lavigne’s latest, not to mention less melodramatic. Nicoletto has the presence that many classic singers have. He reminds me a great deal of Paul Rodgers when it comes to versatility and soulfulness but that shouldn’t downplay the band as they have ably created a well rounded backdrop for his voice. If you are looking for something new that will instantly grab you and make you want to sing along then you should check this band out."
Midpoint Music Festival
"Telling on Trixie is what MPMF is all about. Great to meet an artist who's both creative and smart."
Indie Sounds New York
CMJ is upon us. And amidst all the mayhem, a few gigs are worth checking out. Telling on Trixie, playing at the Ace of Clubs on Tuesday night at 10pm is one of them.
Blog Critics Magazine: Indie Round Up
A solid combination of crunchy rock, power pop, and organ-fed soul, Telling on Trixie's debut album comes out roaring with "Halfway Back to Sane" and "Dumb Boy." The two songs powerfully describe the two sides of the heartache coin. Derek Nicoletto's vocal flair puts one in mind of soulful rock singers like David Bowie and Chris Robinson. He sings with heart and soul and you can still understand all the words...the band's best work is excellent and it's no surprise these New York indie rockers are getting themselves some TV licensing spots and prestigious gigs.

"Groups like ...Telling on Trixie ... is where the future of music lies. The sky is the limit if they get it right."
CDBaby's Derek Sivers
"A CDBaby Success Story."

Released a little over a year ago, NY NY's Telling on Trixie's self-titled debut album still sounds as good today as the first time I heard it. Derek Nicoletto's soulful vocals on Orion's Light are perfect; the backdrop instrumentals don't overtake him on a single occasion. Featuring wonderful organs, powerful-yet-not-overpowering rock guitars and anthemic lyrics truly sung from the heart, ToT is Nicoletto (loud vocals) and Brad Small(quiet vocals), Tommy Kessler on lead guitar, bass player Matt Aronoff and Andrew Frawley on drums.
The band is in the process of a unique program to fund their next album. You can read about the plan here. We are going to help, maybe yo might consider it too. Here's hoping it comes to fruition for them; this music is too good to be silenced for lack of funding. And we all know how difficult that is for any independent band.

Telling On Trixie, from New York City, have been featured on Sirius Satelitte Radio, been honored by LOGO and have a lot of soul in their rock and roll. Created from a partnership of opposites- the introverted guitarist (Brad Small) and the extroverted lead singer (Derek Nicoletto) who bring out the best in one another to create something bigger than themselves.
Their music is heavy pop with rock and roll backing, and bottom line is soulful and enjoyable. “Halfway Back To Sane” is a honest rock/pop song about needing to be disconnected from someone for your own sanity: “I don’t want to know what you’re going through / I don’t want to know the name of your pain. / I don’t want to hear how he did you wrong. / I I’m only halfway to back to sane.”
